BR on the road: Break Lites

This is a photo continuation from our recent  north eastern trip.  We visited Mark with Break Lites in Peabody, Ma. the day before our flight.  The area had been under a “heat wave” which made our home base of Florida appear as though it was going to be a real good place for a cool down period.  The car read an outside temp of 105+ degrees thoughout the entire week.  NJ, NY, CT, MA. – it didn’t matter, the entire area was scorching.  Mark’s shop was evidently putting out some hot wheels as well.  Several of the shop’s latest builds can be seen in the group photo below.  Aside from the good news that the shop was having a very good summer in terms of business Mark let us know that when we visit him next year we can look forward to seeing Break Lites in a brand new building.  The entire block is being upgraded and Break Lites will be taking advantage of it.  We can’t wait to see the new diggs as well as any new creations that he may bring down to Biketoberfest which is just around the corner.

One year ago…

Approximately one year ago Roaring Toyz debuted this custom 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during the MotoGP race weekend.  History: AMA rider and Roaring Toyz owner, Robert Fisher who had been racing in the MotoGT (MotoST) circuit ended up crossing paths with AMA Superbike Champion, Mat Mladin earlier on in the year.  Mat was on the verge of retirement and wanted a bike to represent his new endeavor, Bike Gear Warehouse in New South Wales.  This GSX-R was the first custom ’09 1000 in the country and our shots were taken just hours before it left for Laguna (6-28-09), exclusive to BlingRockets. BR on the road: Pitstop Motorsport

BR’s Exec. Editor Lee Wallace spent last week in the New England area. Upon arriving in Hartford he went south to NJ to visit D-Man in Union City. If your not familiar with D-Man and Pitstop Motorsport he’s the main designer/builder in the industry who really “dares to be different”. His reputation goes way back but recently he’s the one popular for the famous Predator bike and now for the Batman bike. His shop does it all: fabrication, fiberglass, ABS plastic, paint, parts, gear, and more. Check out the pics below and be on the look out for a full feature/write-up on Pitstop Motorsport as well as a real feature on the Batman bike.

Atlantic Beach Bikefest pics

Atlantic Beach Bikefest on 30th Ave:

Team Myrtle West entertained the crowd. Familiar vendors such as Kory Souza, Break Lites, Roaring Toyz, Myrtle West, and TOCC were all found on the strip. Break Lites’ Hannspree bike was tricked out with a keyless start system. Roaring Toyz’s Triumph, BMW, and Suzuki were all rocking their latest swingarms. It was evident that everyone had brought out their heavy artillery this Memorial Day weekend.

30th annual Atlantic Beach Bike Fest

Its time for the 30th annual Atlantic Beach Bike Fest and the City of Atlantic beach wants to extend a sincere welcome to all bikers this memorial day weekend *may 28th – 30th *.

Atlantic Beach has made a few special concessions to their laws for this weekend. For one, inside the city limits of Atlantic Beach they will NOT be enforcing their open container laws. And there will be no enforcement of their noise ordinance on motorcycles as well. And always remember that ONLY inside the city limits of Myrtle Beach is a helmet required and hassles will be plentiful.

A pleasant change for this year is that there will be no entrance fee to enter Atlantic Beach and there will be a limited amount of free parking on a first come basis, other parking will be a minimal fee.

Atlantic Beach has really pulled out all the stops to see that attendees have a great time at the bike fest. There will be tons of venders selling aftermarket parts and accessories, food and apparel. At the famous Horse shoe section there will be live entertainment provided by NDa Game, There will be 5 stunt shows daily sponsored by the Crazy Horse Lounge and put on by Team Myrtle West show casing their 240 tired stunt bikes, with riders Ryan Lanier and Shawn Billich. Also included will be Ed 1000 from TOCC added to the mix, after every show there will be an autograph session with the riders. Also at the Horse shoe will be Pro Row, showcasing professional bike builders Myrtle West Cycles, Brake Lites, Tricked Out Custom Cycles, Britt Motor sports, Roaring Toyz, and Kory Souza Originals showing their latest customs and product lines, Also there will be a Meet and Greet with the Pro builders at Off the Hook on 30th ave in Atlantic Beach on Thursday 5pm till.

On Friday things start happening at 11:00 am with live music and stunting all day till 9:00 pm and then it’s a giant street party till 2:00 am.

Saturday the fest gets rolling at 9:00 am also with live music and stunt shows at 4:00 pm the Carolina Knight Riders have a (something going on) till 5:00 pm and the street party starts at 8:00 pm till 2:00 am

Sunday also starts at 9:00 am, a special treat for Sunday is the Gospel fest starting at 11:00 am and going till 2:00 pm followed by more live music and stunt shows. The party starts at 9:00 pm and goes till 2:00 am.

Monday fires up at 9:00 am as well with live music with a special tribute to our veterans starting at 12:00 pm and going till 1:00 pm when the closing ceremonies for 2010’s Atlantic Beach Bike Fest begin.

All vendors and builders will open at there own discretion during the street parties.
